Shiphrah Birthing Home || Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines
The founder of Shiphrah Birthing Home (part of HELP International Ministries) is a long-time friend of my (Tracey) motherinlaw, who started Gentle Hands Birthing Clinic, which is now Gentle Hands, Inc - an orphanage run by my sisterinlaw.
Jeri and her daughter, Deborah's, heart for the pregnant women at Shiphrah is so very evident as they do their prenatals, interviews and ultimately births.
Three times a week, pregnant women from the Antipolo area come for their weekly teaching, prenatal checkups. It's a lovely set-up and 2 doors down is The Little Children's Home, an orphanage started by Jeri's late husband Dennis. (TLC is another post!) The Birthing Home is also registered to accept midwives worldwide for training so volunteer midwives come and train under the Shiphrah staff year-round.
