When Gifts & Graces Fair Trade Foundation contacted us, it was not just do help them out with a product shoot for all of their livelihood products for their catalogue, but also for some of the behind the scenes production shots in some of the areas that these great products are made.
The first place we visited was up in Caloocan City, which is the very northeast of Metro Manila.
Started by two nuns - one italian and one spanish - back in 1978, Stardolls has become a place for many in the Tala community to make a fair and consistent living through the making of the dolls and other items that are made at the workshop.
When we were there, the orders were being made from all over the world: Japan, China, Germany. Truly this organization was such a blessing to the community of Tala as well as their teddy bears, which have a workshop of their own (pictured below) are an item that is sold at Gifts and Graces Giftshop. Each doll and item is so incredibly detailed and personal!
